Eric Monson

American baritone, Eric Monson, has been performing and teaching around the world for over 30 years. He has been fortunate to work with several Grammy and Tony award winners throughout his performance career and maintains a steady schedule of performing, conducting and teaching. His students have various backgrounds from beginning singers to advanced singers, from professional singers at Disney to Pop stars in Asia. They all come away with a greater knowledge of the voice, and a freedom of singing to last a lifetime.

After obtaining his degree from Luther College, Eric's a cappella group, Water Street Junction, won the first ever International Collegiate Barbershop Quartet competition in 1992. Afterwards, Monson went on to perform for a season at Europe’s largest musical revue theater, the Fredrichstadtpalast, in Berlin, Germany. In 1998, after several years of producing choir festivals at Disney parks and in cities around the world, Eric decided to form Metro Vocal Group. Metro Vocal Group has been performing around the world ever since, receiving over 25 million views on various online platforms, and are known for their ability to sing in both Cantonese and Mandarin. This has included multiple performances on Hunan TV and CCTV, Tokyo and Hong Kong Disney, and collaborated with such artists as G.E.M., Hacken Lee, and Hanjin, to name a few. In 2008, Eric started his own company, the American Vocal Studio in Hong Kong, to provide students with vocal and a cappella training.

Eric specializes in child and adolescent vocal development, helps develop secondary/high school students for placement in musical  theater programs in the USA and UK, and guides amateur and professional singers in further vocal development.
