AVS Payment and Attendance Policies
AVS offers two payment plans, the MONTHLY PAYMENT PLAN and the SEMESTER PAYMENT PLAN. With these plans you may choose the option of paying by cash, check, bank transfer or PayPal(which also accepts credit cards).
AVS has placed a lot of effort in recruiting the most qualified and dedicated instructors for our studio. As a result, we have high expectations of commitment, attendance and improvement among our students. Our attendance policy reflects our vision that when you enroll at AVS, you are committed to the process of learning a lifelong skill through practice, performance, and the enjoyment of singing.
AVS Payment Plans:
AVS Monthly Payment Plan
Lessons are paid for one month in advance before the first lesson of each month. If paying by cash or check, payment is made at the last lesson of the previous month. If paying online, payment is due the first day of the month.
STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT THEIR PROPOSED LESSON SCHEDULE THE LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH FOR THE FOLLOWING MONTH. Students will then be invoiced appropriately. It is our studio policy that unless you are away on family vacation, students are expected to sign up for lessons once a week (approximately four lessons minimum per month). There are no refunds extended once monthly payment is made with lessons needing to be used during that month only.
AVS Semester Payment Plan
Students are offered a 10% discount for the Semester Payment Plan, based on 18 lessons a semester. Payment is due in full at the first lesson of the semester. You are not required to remain in the semester plan for the entire year and may switch to the monthly payment plan at the end of any semester. All 18 lessons must be used in the appropriate term. No lessons will be credited or carried forward to the next semester.
First Semester: September 1, 2018 through January 20, 2019
Second Semester: January 21, 2019 through June 2, 2019
ONLY APPLYING TO SEMESTER PLAN. Withdrawal - With written notice of a student’s intent to terminate private lessons, pro-rated tuition from the start of the upcoming month will be refunded minus 25% of the original tuition. The refund will be based on the date the written notice is received.
AVS has the right to determine what is and what is not an excused scheduled lesson cancellation. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be considered unexcused and will not be made up (except in case of illness—see below) with no refund or credit extended. No refunds or credit will be extended for any unexcused scheduled lesson cancellation.
If the student becomes ill, please notify the teacher as soon as possible. Make up lessons for illness are handled on a per case basis. All other situations (such as Black Rain or signals at or higher than Tyhpoon Signal 8) are handled on a per case basis. When in doubt as to whether AVS remains open, please contact your instructor ahead of time.
Make-up lessons for what AVS determines to be an excused scheduled lesson cancelation will be based on the individual teacher’s schedule for that month. If you are unable to attend any of the times offered for a make up lesson, that lesson will be credited to the next month. Make up lessons can be used for up to one month after the orignal lesson date and can not be substituted for a regular lesson. If you know that you will be out of Hong Kong, please schedule appropriately the month prior. If a teacher has an emergency, they will do their best to make up the missed lesson. In some cases, credit will be extended to the next pay period.
